Report for Sustainable Agriculture Project from Narus, South Sudan 010

1- TITLE:

2- BRIEF BACKGROUND:

3- ACTIVITIES DONE WITHIN THIS PERIOD:

• Controlled of some pest (Weaver birds) in the Sorghum field done.
• Harvesting Sorghum for this season done.
• Motivating workers done but inkind with Sorghum.
• Transporting Sorghum from field to Narus done with our Busycle and some Women including some supported children.
• Repaired of Door for Poultry house done by myself at a free cost.

4- PLANS ACTIVITIES FOR NEXT PERIOD:

• To improve on our Poultry house as currently we have many Ducklings (23 in numbers).
• To concentrate too in growing vegetables.

5- ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Poultry, our female Duck hatch good numbers of Ducklings , 23 of them.
• Boys school fees for first term was paid fully with money generated from Watermelon . 
• Support of food stuff was made to schools where our children are, so that they can remain within the school during holidays.
• Good Kilograms of Sorghum (735Kg) were harvested this time. it helped us to cleared school fee of boys both second and third term.
• Purchased of Stationery and others basic requirements.

6- CHALLENGES FACING OUR PROJECT:

• Long distance from Narus to the field is affecting our project to progress faster.
• Hiring Means of Transport to transport our produce became very expensive.
• Bad road from Narus to the field especially when is raining heavily and frequently.
• Lack of water point in the Village where our field is, and we used to carry Jerrican of water from Narus to the field.
• Inadequate funds to motivate workers, workers normally motivated inkind with what they've harvested.
• Lack of Manpower to help me in this project so that it may not overcome me.
• Lack of enough space (rooms) in the Poultry house.
• - Lack of store within the field and incase of any harvested Crops must be park under the tree  while waiting for Transportation.

7- RECOMMENDATION:

• Needs for us to improve our Poultry house so that when this Ducklings survive all, then,  there will be enough space which can accommodate them all.
• Needs for us to erect a small Temporary structure only for shade within the field which can help us as Temporary store before Transporting our produce.
• Due to some challenges we are facing in the current field, am in the process of talking with the local government authority to get us a new place where we can able to have near by water point and to access security personnel when there's emergency needs.
