1- PROJECT TITLE:
Agriculture initiative in South Sudan.
2- BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
Agriculture initiative in South Sudan started in the year 2020 by the help of Eirene kashino Fund from Japan Tokyo. This project begun with the strong aims of improving life of vulnerable children living in Narus community but mainly we focus much on the future of children through giving education as well as feeding.
3- ACTIVITIES DONE:
- Planting of vegetable.
- Planting and weeding of Sorghum plantation.
- Purchased of some working tools and seeds.
- Payment of workers.
- Expansion of Poultry house.
4- PLANS ACTIVITIES:
- To Prepare nursery beds for Sukuma wiki and eggs plant by next week.
- Spraying of Sorghum with pesticide to avoid pest like army warmth, Red ant etc.
- To Prepare Maize field.
5- ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Enough Food for our Poultry no need for Purchase of feeds for our Ducks.
- Two hectares of Sorghum fields was cultivated this year 2023.
- 27 active ant Hills was killed this year 2023 at the beginning of our Sorghum plantation and this will help Crops not to be affected much by the Termites.
- Seven (7) female Ducks are sleeping on their Eggs (Incubation) hope soon, we will have more than 100 Ducklings.
6- CHALLENGES FACING:
- Lack of veterinary to help us in this Poultry, and this made us lost many ducks almost every week.
- Lack of Manpower and most of the things am doing by myself.
- Means of Transport (open roof vehicle)
- Improve working tools (Tractor)
7- WAYFORWARD FOR OUR PROJECT:
- - Needs for our own water point to help our even if during dry season.
- - Needs for us to have Manpower even if in voluntary bases.
- - Needs for us to have improve working tools which will help us to cultivate in large fields.
8- CONCLUSION:
We can't get tired to appreciate you still, we continue thanking you for really fulfilling your promise to improve our life in Narus. We promise to work with you hand in hand for the betterment of our Vulnerable community.
