1- TITLE.
Agriculture initiative in South Sudan working project.
2- BRIEF BACKGROUND.
The project started in year 2020 by the helped of Eirene kashino Fund from Japan. This project begun with the aims of improving life of vulnerable children living in Narus community.
3- ACTIVITIES DONE.
- Nursery bed for seedlings done.
- Seconds weeding & spraying of shukuma garden done.
- Seconds Planting of greens vegetables during dry season done.
- Poultry keeping ( Ducks ) started with few numbers.
4- PLAN ACTIVITIES.
- Preparation of fields for both Sorghum, Maize and Groundnut for this season.
- Erecting poultry house ( Vikaspedia )
- Planning to seach market for our produce ( Sorghum ).
- To add more working tools.
- New budgets proposal for this season.
5- ACHIEVEMENTS:
- 97,310 SSP equivalent to $217 generated from vegetables.
- School fees for 7 children learning in St Daniel Comboni was fully cleared for the whole year ( 3 terms ).
- Poultry begun with 8 Ducks and all are the outcome of our projects.
6- CHALLENGES.
- Shortage of water: School borehole getting spoiled from time to time due to many people looking for drinking water.
- Heat: the weather is too hot and no sign of rainfall for the moment.
- Domestic and bush animals encroaching the vegetables garden.
- In adequate working tools.
- Proper Poultry house.
7- RECOMMENDATION.
- Needs for more tools to make the work become quicker.
- Needs for our own water tank to help in watering vegetables especially during dry season.
- Needs to erect Poultry house as our new projects to backup the ongoing projects of agriculture.
8- CONCLUSION.
I'm so sorry not to send you the report for last year October to December but all in all we're pleased to inform you that we've just developed Poultry keeping.The program begun with 8 Ducks and from the money we generated from vegetables.
