Report for Sustainable Agriculture Project from Narus, South Sudan 015

1- TITLE:

2- BRIEF BACKGROUND:

3- ACTIVITIES DONE:  

• Ploughing of the fields for new season 2024.
• Planting of Sorghum, Maize and Vegetable. This all takes three and half hectares.
• First weeding is done on 29/4/2024 with all the motivation of the workers.
• First spraying of Sorghum and Maize done in three hectares and this is to control pest and army warmth not to attack the crops.
• Livestock 21 Goats started as part of our progress in this project.

4- PLAN ACTIVITIES:

• Second weeding of the three hectares of fields for Sorghum and Maize.
• Seaching Market for our produce ( Vegetables)
• To get someone who can help us in taking care of the 21 Goats.
• To erect small Kraal for the livestock.

5- ACHIEVEMENTS:

• we have 175 Ducks both small and mature Ducks.
• 21 Goats were bought to begin our livestock.
• All students in the school was provided with writing equipment and this came from what we generated from the Garden of Vegetables and Poultry.
• 450, 950 South Sudanese Pound generated from Vegetables.

6-  CHALLENGES:

• Domestic and bush animals encroaching our garden several times and normally destroyed our crops.
• Means of Transports.
• Shortage of enough Water.
• Lack of good market for our produce where we can sell our produce at good prices.

7-  WAYFORWARD:

• Needs for us to have a private menas of Transport which can help us to transport produce to the market or good store.
• Needs for us to have our private and good store for keeping our fresh products like Vegetables.
